Dr Brian De'Ambrosis
Dr Brian De’Ambrosis. MB BS. FACD.
Dr Brian De’Ambrosis is a graduate of the University of Queensland. After completing his specialist dermatologist training with the Australasian College of Dermatologists he worked at the Skin and Cancer Foundation of Australia in Sydney and obtained his fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Advanced Cutaneous Surgery and Laser Surgery.
Dr De’Ambrosis established South East Dermatology in South East Brisbane and is a senior visiting medical officer in procedural dermatology at Princess Alexandra Hospital. He is also a visiting dermatologist at the Queensland Institute of Dermatology at Greenslopes Private Hospital and a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland. At the training institutions he is involved with supervision of dermatology registrars particularly in the area of specialised skin cancer surgery. He has thirty publications in peer-reviewed journals and given lectures at an international and national level relating to skin cancer and general dermatologic disorders.
Dr De’Ambrosis’ special interests include melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancers, Mohs Surgery (a highly specialised form of skin cancer surgery), laser surgery, perineural invasion and acne management.
Associate Professor
Jim Muir
Associate Professor Jim Muir. MB BS. FACD.
Associate Professor Jim Muir is a life-long resident of Brisbane who qualified as a specialist dermatologist in 1994. Besides practicing at South East Dermatology he is the Director of the Department of Dermatology at the Mater Hospital, South Brisbane. As the dermatologist for ‘Telederm National’, a website run by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, Jim also delivers dermatological care to all parts of Australia via the internet. Jim has a special interest in skin cancer and skin disease in the elderly. He is actively involved in medical education he regularly lectures on dermatology to other specialists, general practitioners, medical students, pharmacists and the general public.
Jim is also a senior lecturer in dermatology at the University of Queensland, a moderator of the International Dermoscopy Society, Chair of the Brisbane Hospitals Dermatology Group and has for many years been involved in the provision of dermatology education to the Department of Podiatry at the Queensland University of Technology. At the time of writing Dr Muir has 15 publications in peer reviewed journals and texts.
Dr Simon Yong Gee
Dr Simon Yong-Gee. MB BS. FACD.
Dr Simon Yong-Gee graduated from the University of Queensland in 1992. In 1997 he commenced his dermatology training in London and Edinburgh before completing his qualifications in Queensland in 2002. Dr Yong-Gee is also a Visiting Medical Officer at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and is involved in teaching registrars and medical students. His interest is in general dermatology.
Dr Asoka Herat
Dr Asoka Herat. MB BS. FACD.
Dr Asoka Herat is a general Dermatologist who was trained in Australia and the United Kingdom. Her interests are paediatric dermatology, vulval diseases and acne. She works in private practice and a visiting dermatologist at the Mater Adult Hospital.
Dr Corinne Yoong
Dr Corinne Yoong. MB BS. FACD.
Dr Corinne Yoong is a general dermatologist with a special interest in the treatment of acne, eczema, psoriasis, and cutaneous malignancies as well as vulval diseases. Corinne trained in Queensland and is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Corinne is an experienced clinician with a fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners, as well as holding a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Dr Yin Vun
Dr Yin Vun. MB BS. FACD.
Dr Yin Vun is an Australian trained dermatologist who graduated from the University of Queensland in 1999. During her dermatology training, she received awards for the Ken Paver medal for excellence in the clinical sciences examination, as well as the clinical pharmacology examination. Her training was done in Queensland but she had also spent time as a dermatology registrar in Ireland. She completed her fellowship training and was accepted into the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2009.
Dr Vun has been an active participant in various skin cancer research projects and clinical trials, and has published in multiple local and international peer reviewed journals. She works as a general dermatologist. Dr Vun has an interest in atopic and allergic dermatitis; acne, psoriasis and autoimmune diseases. She particularly enjoys the challenge of complex medical dermatological problems. She finds being able to see people of all ages a rewarding part of her dermatology career.
Apart from working at South East Dermatology, she is also the Telehealth consultant at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, providing specialist health care access for those living in remote regions of Queensland. This also gives her the opportunity to act as a mentor for the dermatology registrars. Dr Vun is involved in the task force responsible for the development of the “A to Z of skin” on the Australasian College of Dermatologists website.
Dr Lisa Byrom
Dr Lisa Byrom. MB BS. MPhil. FACD.
Dr Lisa Byrom studied medicine at the University of Queensland. Dr Byrom completed her specialist training in Queensland at Greenslopes Hospital, QIDerm, Mater Hospital, Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Nambour Hospital, Clinic One, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and the Queensland Children’s Hospital. She will be undergoing further training in Cosmetic Dermatology.
She is actively involved in dermatology research having completed her Masters in “The influence of pregnancy, parity, and sex on melanoma prognosis”. She has published and presented internationally in pregnancy associated melanoma, teledermatology, and adverse drug reactions. She is an Associate Lecturer for University of Queensland and the recipient of the UQDI Clinician-Researcher Scholarship.
Her areas of interest are pregnancy associated dermatoses, cutaneous malignancies, acne, psoriasis, eczema, autoimmune diseases, and paediatric dermatology.

Dr Neela Biswas
Dr Neela Biswas MB BS. FACD.
Dr Neela Biswas is an Australian trained dermatologist, a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and specialises in medical and paediatric dermatology.
She completed her medical degree at the James Cook University in Queensland. She started working as a GP in Brisbane before
commencing her work in dermatology.
Her subsequent specialist dermatology training took place at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Queensland Institute of Dermatology and the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
Dr Biswas has always been actively involved in research throughout her medical career, enjoys teaching and is regularly involved with
teaching current dermatology registrars and medical students.
She is interested in all aspects of general dermatology including skin cancer surveillance, acne, eczema, psoriasis, hyperhidrosis, inflammatory, auto-immune connective tissue diseases and female genital dermatology.
She also loves working with kids and specialises in paediatric dermatology.

Dr Kristyn Deen
Dr Kristyn Deen MB BS. MMed (Skin Cancer), FACD.
Dr Kristyn Deen is a specialist Dermatologist with special interests in acne, skin cancer, psoriasis, eczema, hair disorders and female genital dermatology.
After completing her medical degree and junior medical training in Queensland, Dr Deen completed her specialist dermatology training in Queensland and the United Kingdom. This was undertaken at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital and the Queensland Institute of Dermatology. She also travelled overseas where she spent a valuable year of her specialist training at the Queens Hospital in London.
Dr Deen is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (ACD) and has also obtained a Masters of Medicine in Skin Cancer at the University of Queensland.
Outside of her clinical roles, Dr Deen enjoys contributing her knowledge and experience to research and has multiple publications in both national and international peer-reviewed journals. She holds an academic appointment as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and is involved with the teaching and training of medical students and dermatology registrars.
Dr Jean-Marie Tan

Dr Jean-Marie Tan is a specialist dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
Dr Tan studied Medicine in Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland; and graduated with Honours. She undertook her Dermatology specialist training in Queensland: the Queensland Institute of Dermatology, Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Mater Hospital Brisbane, Queensland Children’s Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital.
She completed a Master of Philosophy research higher degree at the University of Queensland, with a thesis on “Dermoscopic and molecular correlation of melanocytic naevi”. She is published in International peer-reviewed medical journals.
Dr Tan is a general dermatologist with an interest in the early detection of skin cancer, medical and paediatric dermatology.

Dr Ebrahim Abdulla
Dr Ebrahim Abdulla. MB, ChB, MMED, FACD
Dr Ebrahim Abdulla is a qualified Dermatologist from South Africa who completed his undergraduate training at the University of Natal in 1986.
After a stint in general practice Dr Abdulla undertook his post-graduate training in Dermatology at the University of Stellenbosch. He graduated in 1999 and entered specialist private practice, consulting at St Augustine’s Hospital and Mount Edgecombe Hospital in Durban.
In 2016 Dr Abdulla came to Australia to complete his advanced training in Dermatology with the Australasian College of Dermatologists. In addition to a rural rotation in NSW, Dr Abdulla has trained at The Skin Hospital at Westmead, at Westmead Public Hospital and The Children’s Hospital Westmead.
Dr Abdulla has been a Staff Specialist at The Skin Hospital in Sydney since 2017.
His interests include inflammatory dermatoses like eczema and psoriasis, acne, paediatric dermatology and skin cancers.
Dr Zachary Boyce

Dr Zachary Boyce is a specialist Dermatologist and respected fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists who is dedicated to providing the highest standard of dermatological care. Dr Boyce offers a comprehensive spectrum of services in general medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology for all ages.
Dr Boyce brings a wealth of experience to his practice, through his special interest in skin cancer, and a wide array of medical and surgical dermatology.
His journey in dermatology commenced with rigorous training across Queensland at a variety of public and private institutions in Brisbane and Cairns. He obtained his Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degrees at the University of Queensland having spent some time training overseas at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles, California, USA, adding a global perspective to his practice. Notably, he is a proud member of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr Boyce has conducted and published multiple research projects at the Dermatology Research Centre through the University of Queensland at Princess Alexandra Hospital, and at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research Centre for Excellence in Sun and Health. His research presentations have earned him multiple awards at the Australasian College of Dermatologists’ annual meetings and allowed his publications to be recognised in Australia and Internationally.

Dr Stephanie Rea
Dr Stephanie Rea. MB BS (Hons), MPH, FACD
Dr Stephanie Rea is a specialist Dermatologist and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Dr Rea completed her dermatology specialist training in Queensland working at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Royal Brisbane Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital and the Mater Hospital.
During her training she was awarded the Travelling Fellowship Award for the highest overall score in the National Examinations, allowing her to travel to the US to spend time at the renowned Mayo Clinic.
Dr Rea graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours. She has published research on acne and melanoma in both the Australian and British Journals of Dermatology which have won several awards.
Dr Rea has completed a Master of Public Health and is currently undertaking further studies in venereology (sexual health medicine). She is a Consultant Dermatologist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital where she regularly participates in the teaching of Dermatology trainees.
Dr Rea has an interest in general medical dermatology including female genital dermatology, autoimmune related skin disorders (eg lupus), blistering disorders (eg bullous pemphigoid), acne, skin cancer, eczema and psoriasis.
Dr Mitch Robinson

Fellow of the Australian College of Dermatologists. With dual specialty fellowships accredited
by the Australian Medical Council, Dr. Mitch is a seasoned expert in the field of medical,
surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
In addition to his fellowship, Dr. Mitch has been awarded a postgraduate Master’s degree in
the surgical and medical management of skin cancer. His comprehensive training and notable
credentials make him a leading authority in skin care, spanning from medical and cosmetic
dermatology to advanced surgical skin cancer management.
Dr. Mitch has a subspecialised focus on the effective management of acne and acne scarring.
Utilising cutting-edge, evidence-based approaches and the latest medical, light-based, and
surgical techniques, he provides bespoke treatment approaches for complex acne
management.

Dr Paul Komarowski
Dr Paul Komarowski. MB BS. AdvDipBusMgt, CertAdvClinDerm
Dr Paul Komarowski graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1986 and undertook residency at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital. He spent twenty-one years in general practice where his interest and enthusiasm for skin cancer management developed. In 2007 he decided to leave full time general practice to focus on what had become his professional passion – skin cancer diagnosis and management.
In 2008 he was fortunate to be offered an opportunity to work with the dermatologists at Southeast Dermatology, providing in-house surgical services to the patients of the practice, where he continues to date.
In 2016, Paul expanded his practice in joining Dr Ben Carew at Southeast Dermatology Stafford, where he provides the full gamut of Skin Cancer GP services to patients. He also practises at Ashgrove Skin Cancer Clinic.
Paul believes strongly in the premise that skin cancer management education should be provided by experts trained and practicing in Australia’s unique skin cancer environment, and is pleased to be one of the founding directors of Australian Skin Cancer Academy. He enjoys the challenges that everyday skin cancer practice and skin cancer education present.
Outside of medicine Paul is married and has three adult children (and a Cavoodle who thinks he is the fourth). He is a keen sailor and enjoys racing both inshore and offshore, and cruising the waters of southeast Queensland.
Dr James Freeman
Dr James Freeman. B. Sc (Hons), GD Teach, MA, MBBS, FRACGP.
Dr Freeman graduated in medicine from the University of Queensland in 2001. During his hospital residency in became interested in dermatology during a residency term at the Princess Alexandra hospital dermatology department. Subsequent to this he undertook training in General Practice completing special interest terms in dermatology and skin cancer management.
After obtaining his fellowship in 2006 in General Practice he completed a certificate course in skin cancer management conducted by the College of General Practice in concert with the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He has worked in primary care skin cancer / dermatology regularly since 2007. Since starting as clinical assistant / proceduralist at Southeast Dermatology in 2010 he has broadened his practice following training in the use of IPL and Laser in the treatment of some cosmetic skin conditions.
He also takes an interest in teaching, both for medical students as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland Faculty of Medicine, and for doctors completing skills courses in skin cancer management.
Dr Dani Partoredjo
Dr Dani Partoredjo. MBBS, BSc, FRACGP
Dr Dani Partoredjo grew up in Brisbane and graduated from the University of Queensland in 1989. He spent several years working at the Gold Coast Hospital and then worked in General Practices throughout Southeast Queensland and Melbourne. He obtained his specialty General Practice post-graduate degree while working in Melbourne. He has a diverse range of medical interests – skin cancer medicine has always been one of these. Over the past 25+ years in general practice, he has had specific training in and developed expertise and experience in skin cancer management and surgical techniques. He continues to up-skill with a commitment to ongoing education and training. Dani started working at South East Dermatology in 2018 and continues to work as a GP and also assists in surgery at Greenslopes Hospital.
As well as being an enthusiastic doctor, Dani is a keen musician, playing the violin and guitar in various groups throughout Brisbane.
Dr Solange Green
Dr Solange Samantha Green. B.Medicine (Dist), FRACGP, FSCCA, GAICD
Dr Solange Green is passionate about skin cancer medicine. She is appreciated by her patients for her thorough and caring approach. Her patients also love the way she tries to make procedures as pleasant as possible, and that she creates soothing skin devices which make procedures more comfortable.
She has extensive qualifications in skin cancer and is an Accredited Doctor and Fellow of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia, where she won a prize for the highest mark in the final examination in Australia and New Zealand.
Born in Paris, Dr Green is an Australian graduate of the University of Newcastle Medical School where she graduated with distinction. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
She holds a diploma of Dermoscopy (Distinction) a diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery and a diploma of Dermatology (Distinction)
Dr Green has an interest in the management of patients with multiple skin cancers. Dr Green will also perform minor procedures such as removal of cysts through a small incision to keep the scar as small as possible.
She is involved in organising scientific content for national skin cancer conferences, is an author with the Melanoma Institute of Australia and is involved with skin cancer education and melanoma research.
Dr Green loves outdoor adventures such as hiking with her teenagers in Nepal.
